Salary Range: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 Salary/year

Description

Child Development Institute provides relationship based early intervention services to children and their families in the San Fernando Valley. CDI is looking for dynamic, innovative minds to join our multidisciplinary team.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct treatment to clients (see caseload requirement below).
  • Communicating with families, clients (as appropriate) and other professionals about necessary information related to treatment, diagnosis, prognosis, etc.
  • Assessment of clients which may include performing standardized and non-standardized tests, formal and informal evaluations, and interpretation of evaluations.
  • Screening of clients
  • Follow documented goal/objectives by contracted agencies as appropriate.
  • Writing, developing, and implementing treatment plans for selected clients.
  • Assisting in appropriate selection/discharge of clients from caseload.
  • Writing required daily chart notes, progress reports, diagnostic assessment results, etc.
  • Scheduling clients, preparing activities and materials for use in therapeutic intervention, selecting appropriate materials for family education/training (e.g., parent articles).
  • Participate in parent conferences, case conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings and/or assessments, including staff meetings and other similar services.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., OT, interventionists, etc.) as necessary.
  • Make referrals for additional services as needed.
  • Attend continuing education seminars to maintain licensure, certification, and professional responsibility.
  • Clinical supervision of CFY and/ or SLPA as required by agency. This includes monitoring and evaluating treatment decisions of CFY or SLPA, monitoring their ability to provide services and to ensure compliance with all laws/regulations governing their practice.
  • Submit a timecard and appropriate billing as required and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure provision of a clean, safe organized environment to implement therapeutic activities.
  • Assimilate all Child Development Institute policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstrate ability to produce professionally written reports and documents.
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise and train staff, engage in interagency and parent-professional collaboration.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team and independently.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from ASHA accredited university program, Certificate of Clinical Competence, and state licensure in speech pathology.
  • Three to four years working experience in pediatrics and/or early intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability in administering standardized and non-standardized tests to perform evaluations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical and observational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and confidence in expressing views to other professionals in the field.

Physical Requirements, must be able to:

  • Ability to bend, squat, turn and move to respond and physically interact with children ages 0-8
  • Lift at least twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Effectively use a computer and telephone to conduct business.
  • Travel occasionally for in-home sessions during the morning, day, and/or weekend hours.
